Cynthia M. Certo, Esquire graduated cum laude from Villanova University’s College of Commerce and Finance with a Bachelor of Science degree in Economics. In 1994, she received her Juris Doctor degree from Temple University School of Law, where she was a member of the Law Review. Ms. Certo served as an intern clerk for the Honorable Judge Franklin S. Van Antwerpen, U.S. Circuit Court Judge for the Third Circuit Court of Appeals, and later became a Fellow of the Academy of Advocacy of Temple University.
In private practice, Ms. Certo has successfully litigated jury trials to verdict in the State and Federal courts of Pennsylvania, New Jersey and New York. She has also successfully briefed and argued numerous appellate matters. Ms. Certo has been named one of Pennsylvania’s Super Lawyers since 2013.
Ms. Certo concentrates her practice in various areas of transportation and commercial motor vehicle litigation. She has extensive experience in related matters involving personal injury and wrongful death, property damage, State and Federal regulation of the trucking industry, insurance coverage, products liability, and contract disputes.
For more than 20 years, Ms. Certo has represented children in need pro bono through the Support Center for Child Advocates, the nation's oldest and largest nonprofit agency providing legal and social services advocacy for abused and neglected children. In 2014, she was given one of the Support Center’s Distinguished Advocate awards.
In 2011, Ms. Certo was appointed as a Hearing Committee Member of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, and served a second term as a Senior Member.
