Lynda M. Powell, Esquire graduated cum laude from Saint Joseph's University in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science, earning membership in the Political Science Honor Society. She then received her Juris Doctor degree from Rutgers University Law School-Camden in 2007.
Ms. Powell concentrates her practice in the areas of estate administration, insurance defense litigation, and insurance coverage, providing guidance to insurers on a variety of coverage issues, including first party contractual claims, third-party liability claims, and bad faith claims, as well as assisting insurers with the development and implementation of internal company policies and procedures regarding claims handling. She is admitted to the bars of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and State of New Jersey and is also admitted to practice in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey. Ms. Powell has litigated coverage disputes before federal and state courts in Pennsylvania and New Jersey as well as in compulsory, contractual and private arbitrations and her background includes extensive briefing, argument and motion practice in numerous federal and state courts.
Ms. Powell is a member of the Philadelphia Bar Association, Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel, Peirce College Paralegal Studies Advisory Committee, and Saint Joseph's University Law Alumni Association. She has performed volunteer pro bono work for Philadelphia VIP and is also a certified arbitrator in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.
Ms. Powell has lectured to the Bar and insurance carriers on various areas of insurance coverage and claims handling.
Ms. Powell is also an Adjunct Professor at Pierce College and has taught Legal Writing.
